Houl on to yer hats, it`s not a return of the Drumcree Thread, it has just been announced that the new Mayor of Belfast is Naomi Long a Chinese lady, she is a member of the Alliance Party.
Who said we are bigots?.

Not so for once - female mayors are "mayors" and always have been since they started to be given the position. A mayoress is the partner of a mayor. There have been a fair number of men who've been "mayoresses", though in practice they tend to find some other way of identifying them. But female mayors are never called "mayoresses" except in error.

Is it true that when the owner of the Pekin Duck went to the local bar he was asked if he was Catholic or Protestant. When he replied he was a Buddhist he was asked if that was a Catholic or Protestant Buddhist...

Don't worry about the mistake, Ard - We all make them. I assumed our MP (Hazel Blears) was musician but I have recently found out what on the fiddle realy means:-)
