Subject: Lookin' for some lyrics! From: Rachel Date: 10 Jul 99 - 11:22 PM Hi! I was wondering if anyone could help me with the lyrics to some Irish songs that I can't seem to find. I live in Pittsburgh, PA....and we have an excellent local Celtic Rock band "Red Hand Paddy" that performs a bunch of great songs. I found many of them on the Mudcat webpage database. However, I was unable to find a few. I am hoping that someone can help me to attain some of the following: 1. Fisherman's Blues; performed by 'The Waterboys' (was opening song for the movie 'Waking Ned Devine'. 2. 500 Miles; performed by 'The Proclaimers' (a Scottish band) 3. Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya; (to the tune of When Johnny Comes Marching Home) Thanks!!! Rachel B. |

From: campfire Date: 11 Jul 99 - 12:22 AM Hi Rachel - Can't help with the first two, but there are two versions of Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye (or You) in the Database. Type [hardly knew] in the box on the top of the page and you can see both; one of them is probably at least close to the version you are looking for. campfire |

Subject: RE: Lookin' for some lyrics! From: alison Date: 11 Jul 99 - 12:35 AM we did have a thread on 500 miles a while back.. but I think I found the lyrics by searching the net for Proclaimers........ I'll see if I can find it again It is better and works quicker if you put the title of the song you are looking for in the title of your thread request.. otherwise we get heaps called "looking for lyrics" and that makes it difficult to find your request again. slainte alison |

Subject: RE: Lookin' for some lyrics! From: Jeri Date: 11 Jul 99 - 07:29 PM I'm looking for the lyrics to a couple songs, but I don't know the names. The first song goes something like "deedle-dumpty-deedle-dumpty-deedle-something I have been," and the other one goes "da-duummm-da-dum-doodle he wore a dum-duummm." I need the words and a hand-written manuscript. Thanks. |

Subject: RE: Lookin' for some lyrics! From: SueH Date: 12 Jul 99 - 09:26 AM how about an ad instead, Joe. What happens when I post a request for a tune, at 10am UK time, stating the title clearly in the subject line? 15 minutes later, Alison (does she never sleep?) posts me back the words & music. Brilliant, eh? Sue (she of the halo) |
