Sat 13th June on BBC radio 7 3 hours devoted to the ballad of John Axon. On first at 10am repeated at 8pm.

I live less than a mile from the place driver John Axon was killed. Sadly, my old friend the actor John Axon, driver John Axon's grandson, died of a heart attack last year at the age of 48. I will be thinking of him if I get to listen to the broadcast.

Unfortunately, the BBC has not seen fit to make the broadcast version of Radio 7 available to the local population - we are due to receive the freeview service in November, a couple of weeks before they turn off the analogue transmitter. Chaos is anticipated!
