Subject: Big Leg Blues From: GUEST,Mescal Date: 12 Jun 09 - 07:18 PM On "Big Leg Blues" by John Hurt, the websites have: Late at midnight, the moon shone bright as day I saw your faror going up the right of way. But is that really what he says? What's a "faror"? It sounds like that on the record to me also. I've listened a hundred times. Does anyone really understand it? |
Subject: RE: Big Leg Blues From: 12-stringer Date: 13 Jun 09 - 12:26 AM In "Country Blues Guitar" Stefan Grossman footnotes this lyric: *"Faror" is slang for girlfriend. Stefan's source for this is undoubtedly MJH himself. See also http://blueslyrics.tripod.com/blueslanguage.htm#faror You'll have to scroll down the page to find the entry. |
