Subject: Tech: Sweat and our guitars From: Naemanson Date: 17 Jun 09 - 09:27 PM As some of you know I live in Guam which lies just north of the equator. Consequently one of the problems we have here is heat. The other is humidity. So far my guitars have held up well. The heat is pretty much consistent. We have an outdoor thermometer which sits right around 80 degrees all the time. There was a time when I thought it was stuck but I put it in the refrigerator once and solved that question. Humidity also is pretty consistent except for the difference between an air conditioned room and the outdoors. However, I keep two of them in the living room where we only turn on the AC in the late afternoons when it gets really warm in there. Usually the temp and humidity are not a problem. What I am wondering about is the affect of sweat on the guitars. Also, I hate the feel of my sweaty skin on the instrument. What do you do about these two problems? |
