Subject: RE: Finn & Haddie @ Maine Maritime Musuem July 11 From: Charley Noble Date: 02 Jul 09 - 07:57 AM There's been some nice publicity for this concert in the local newspapers, even an image of the original photo from which Fathom This! CD cover was designed. That shows Barry and Neil dressed as Navy sailors aboard a cruiser in Boston Harbor; I believe the poor captain was later courtmartialed for taking them out on a spin. Subject: RE: Finn & Haddie @ Maine Maritime Musuem July 11 From: Barry Finn Date: 06 Jul 09 - 12:47 AM Well we won't be dressed in anything other than our form fitting civies, that ought to be an attraction in itself. Well, at least we'll be dressed He wasn't courmartialed for taking us out on a spin. He was relieved of his commission for taking out a Navy's decommissioned heavy cruiser museum ship) into Boston Harbor without first getting an Ok from the Navy & without getting authorization from the Coast Guard & Harbor Master & worst of all he used a tugboat company that wasn't giving out kickbacks to the local authorities. We had nothing to do with it except for the singing onboard for the ship's reunion. The former crew all thought it was a worth wile sail. After all it was a 4th of July celebration that included the parade of Tall Ships, why wouldn't the Navy be proud to greet them. Barry |
