Hi everyone there is a new video of me on youtube. The song is a version of St.Louis Blues I did at the WC Handy Blues Festival. It is loose I will admit. You can even hear me say at the end "man that was a train wreck" lol. The video ahs alot of pics of friends, band members, my fiance, and alot of pics of me and Bankley. Check it out.

Thanks ya'll. My band has only been together for 3.5 wks. I am taking them into styles of music they have never really played. I am happy with them and think they will do great.

I will post it before long man. I live for experimentation. Hell I am just getting started lol. That one was def country and eastern. Johnny pulled up to the studio tonight and it was blaring out of his windows lol. We had a blast with that one.

Hey the feeling is mutual Peace. That is a compliment and a half coming from you man. Here is another from a practice it kinda does a weird stop but it starts back and plays the whole thing. It is called North Dakota and this is the first time we had ever played it so give us a learning curve lol.

kinda like the CD I'm helping Stormin' Norman with... at one point the engineer, Steve, asked what kind of music it is.... I told him 'Dyslexic Western'... cuz it was hard to tell if the song was starting or finishing... or the sun was rising or setting..
that loosened them all up...

Lol c'mon it was a first take rehearsal lol. It will tighten up but I dont want to tighten it too much. I like some looseness to it. By some peoples standards the sound and feel I want is barely functioning lol. Almost like a car that is bogging down and your nervous it is going to just quit but it keeps going. The feeling of being uncertain and a little on edge adds to the melancholy feel I want it to have. Come on man I dont like conventional pretty things lol. It is all about mood and emotion. You know what I am talking about your my brother. I am rambling lol I know what you were saying I just got to rambling about my vision of what I am wanting the song to feel like. You know me man I get lost in thought when I am thinking about where I want something to go lol

I really like that one J.T. The sound quality is excellent. The harmonica adds a lot to the mood of the song. Is that the Bonny & Clyde car that appears first at 27 seconds?

Thanks. That was the Bonnie and Clyde car in the video. I just threw it together real quick. I am glad you liked it. Bankley I am going to post the "country and eastern" song lol. I knew you were kidding around but I do want a half broke down feel to it. I want to convey the sense of loss and lonliness the guy must have felt. That uncertainty he felt when he could find her. Not knowing if she had gone back to where she came from or if she had died in the snow. His world was slowly dissolving into a world of lonliness confusion and pain. I wanted to kinda portray that sense of confusion. He functioned physically as he usually would but his mind was always half breaking down out of sheer confusion and worry. That is why I want that kind of feel. Like I said I want to feel like your riding in a car that you are not sure is going to make it but when you think it is about to crash on you it picks up again. I know odd but hey Bankley you of all people know me lol.

OK here is the "Country and Eastern" song. It is called Face of Love. I just wanted to experiment with sounds and styles. I love music period all styles that have any integrity. I hung thumbpicks off the strings of the banjo to make it sound like that. I used like 8 of them lol. I know my vocals could improve but this was the first run through it after I told the others the chord changes. I have been playing for 19 yrs and I still push to grow and experiment. The road never ends.

LOL I just saw your post. I am about to run to a gig. I am not really too excited about the whole placement of this gig because it is outside. I just checked the temp here and we have a heat index of 104 degrees. Well no need for fast fret or anything to lube the guitar neck. I think my sweat will work great lol. Oh well it's for a good cause. We are trying to raise money for poor families in Mclean County to buy clothes and food for thier kids. We have an unemployment rate around here of more than 11% so there are alot in need right now. The only saving factor for the placement of the gig is it is right on the Green River and maybe we will catch a breeze. That is the Green River John Prine sung about. After a few hours out in that sun I will be singing "Daddy take me to Paradise not Paradise Ky though because it is only about 10 miles from here so I know it's not any cooler!" lol
