It was good fun, my annual foray into wearing a proper dress was reasonably successful - I managed to get both into and out of it without assistance... the banquet was yummy and the singing fabulous.

Sorry I didn't get to help with the breakfasts or anything, but after the wasp sting at Towersey and the RSI in my right hand, I'm not too good at gripping things (except gin bottles!) so thought discretion was the better part of wossname.

Thank you everyone who made it possible.

Spending our last weekend at home with Rosanna before she offs to Uni. Rota allowing I hope I'll make the Wail next year.

Sorry some of you couldn't make it, we missed you. Morty - I gave Pixie the item we've been corresponding about. She seemed to like it and quite forgave it being 10 years late. Mea Culpa!

Huge thanks to Alan and the team, and to all the singers who came and sang. The song sessions and the banquet food and entertainments were all brilliant. And while it was a shame that many old friends were unable to attend this year, the new dignitaries on the top table acquitted themselves magnificently - thank you Les and Carys Sullivan, Dave Earl, Allan Clarke, Kevin and Lucy Burrow. Also thanks to one of our Wail virgins, George Henderson, for making the trek from Ireland and singing some splendid songs - hope you enjoyed the craic!

We also sang to remember Johnny Collins yesterday from 5 to 5.30pm, and Alan scattered some ashes from an English oak.

Kitty

Cats - the tail was still lurking around on Sunday - Lord Les of Sullivan forgot to award it to the winning table... there will be repercussions!

I would like to support, any thanks to all there and of course to Alan and his crew that seem to make all things possible. I had a great weekend and so did my son. Not sure that any body saw him surface at midday Sunday but oh how it makes me feel so good to be older and wiser. He could not have had a better introduction to the folk scene than through the lovely people and singers at the Wail. Many Thanks again. PS Can I come back and be snatched by the three maids next year? Allan

The standard of singing was extremely high. The choruses and harmonies magnificent and the food was excellent. The beer was even better and I have to tell everone that I had a ball. Can't guarantee making that trek very often It was ever such a long way but if I can work it into a holiday I will get there again.

How such magnificent catering can be done for so little money is amazing. The weekend is tremendous value and I will be recommending it to my friends on this side of the water.

Thank you all for yoru hospitality with paricular thanks to Alan for the hook up facility.

George Henderson
