Subject: RE: Jeff Warner workshop, Lewes, Sat 19 Sept From: GUEST,iancarterb Date: 28 Jun 09 - 12:13 PM "We won't be discussing guitar open tunings or banjo bluegrass picking." Kind of reminds me of Fred McDowell's "You understand, I do not play no rock and roll, just the straight and natural blues." :) Carter |

Subject: RE: Jeff Warner workshop, Lewes, Sat 19 Sept From: Barry Finn Date: 18 Sep 09 - 12:24 AM Jeff should not be missed. He is truly consider here locally (New England) and nationally as an American treasure trove of the music that America was whined on & rised on & with. Even to many of us here who search high & low for the wonderfull & obscure music of America, along the Sea Islands, harbors, mountains, Lumber & mining camps etc, Jeff just keeps coming up with the gems that the rest of us love to sing & his use on more instruments than what's mentioned above for accompanyment & tunes is just as sweet as & as fine as you could ever expect from someone who was not only raised at the feet of 2 of America's most well respected folk collectors but who also grew up meeting those sources & inheriting the love of their home grown music. There's no finer presenter/interpretor today of our folk music than Jeff To miss him, with what he has to offer would be a true shame. Barry |
