Subject: RE: Breezy Barton Wed From: Cathie Date: 02 Jul 09 - 02:06 PM Thanks to all for a star studded night. Hilary's poignancy and John's supremacy. Rachel the landlady loved Moses and the Refs' harmonies Chris Flegg was A* as usual and Mike's sunkissed voice and BIG guitar was admired by connoisseurs. The audience came from North and South as all roads lead to Barton! Woohoo! |

Subject: RE: Breezy Barton Wed From: breezy Date: 03 Jul 09 - 04:49 PM Thank you Ross for your kind words It was a pleasure to play for you and I am glad that the 'breezettes' turned out in force to support the evening I know how hard it is to build something up and keep it going, so does my wife who says if I'm a good boy I can go out again next year. In the words of J C , 'Take care good buddy' Now to rehearse for my next gig, Thurs 21st Jan 2010, Bishop's Stortford a fun place to play and a very knowledgeable bunch, lead by the inimitable Jon Mac Oh hang on,I got a Portland job in Sept thanks Ross and Cathie too , 'supremacy' indeed p.s. J C is Johnny Collins, in case you were wondering |
Subject: RE: Breezy Barton Wed From: My guru always said Date: 04 Jul 09 - 07:22 AM Many thanks to Ross for asking me to sing on Wednesday & also to Breezy who behaved quite well I thought! I knew there was something 'not quite right' while I was singing in the first half, but my throat started cracking up during Breezy's set & the next morning I had no voice at all. But I can't blame the singing, it seems I've had a dose of flu for the past two days. I'm feeling teribly guilty in case I've passed it on to anyone, I do hope not. But according to reports most of us are likely to get it anyway *sigh* Apologies..... I'm coming out the other side now, but I sent Richard & Lefty off with the caravan yesterday to the Sussex Song & Ale & I'm wondering what mischief they'll be getting up to *grin* Am still very tired but my temperature is coming down & I'm looking forward to a thunderstorm which should clear the air a bit. Anyway, thanks again for giving me the opportunity to 'come home' Ross, I really enjoyed it! Lovely to hear Breezy & the Breezettes too! |
Subject: RE: Breezy Barton Wed From: Cathie Date: 04 Jul 09 - 08:38 AM Oh Hilary, sorry to hear that you have been poorly. Phew - well timed though. Imagine the riots if it had been a day or so earlier! It was lovely to have a chat with you - I look forward to the next time.xx |
