Hidie

I saw Josh Williams and High Gear preform this song a while back and have been lookin for a recording of it since. I have not found one yet, but i would greatly appreciate the lyrics and the chords that go along with it if possible. Or if anyone knows where to get a recording of anyone doing this song i'd love it.

Thanks in advance

From http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=127470079:

THE WHITE OAK ON THE HILL
Michael Todd

1. There's a white oak on the hill at my old Clinch Mountain home.
It stands straight and true on that windy spur alone,
But when the cold wind blows, its limbs they bend and moan.
When the storm is past it straightens up and goes on.

CHORUS: Lord, let me be like that white oak on the hill.
Help me to live in Your almighty will.
Help me on my journey, Lord, as I travel on.
Give me the strength to straighten up and go on.

2. You know the troubles of this life sometimes get me down.
I look for my friends, but sometimes they can't be found.
The good Lord He says, "Get up and do my will,
And always remember that white oak on the hill."

Mike Todd wrote this song and his version was "my old Pine Mountain him ", Ralph Stanley changed it to suit himself and everyone thinks "Clinch Mtn " is correct...it is not....
