Roger & Alice are looking forward to seeing their friends (& new people) at Roger's Rant 2009 in less than a week's time (10th July to 12th July'09 to be precise.

It is a Celebration of traditional & contemporary folk music, song and dance. There will be some of the best of local amateur singers and musicians as well as some from further afield. There is also the opportunity for aspiring singers and musicians to have a go in a friendly atmosphere at the Sports Club. The Village Hall will be used for the dance workshops on Saturday & Sunday afternoons, with a Ceilidh (barn dance) on Saturday evening.
The tickets for the Ceilidh are £6.00 from Roger Harrall (tel. no. 01258 837371). All other sessions are FREE entry but we do ask you to give generously into the bucket collections.
The money raised goes to cover the cost of running the event and then is divided between the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.

If anyone wants a copy of the programme visit our web site on www.myspace.com/rogersrant and click on photo of programme

It might be useful if a Mudelf could add Dorset UK to the thread title?

As far as I know, performers include Bob Kirkpatrick, Chas Upton, Gilly Kemp, Les Sullivan, Martin and Vera Jardine, Nicola Clarke, Purbeck Quire, Wareham Whalers, me and Derek. Lizzy Harrall is calling the ceilidh.

Looking forward to it!

Kitty

Thanks for letting us know about this, an event I'd not heard of before. Not sure if we'll get along as I'm just starting to get over flu but will pop along if there's no danger of spreading it around. Good causes and not too far from us, so we'd like to support if we can get along.

Have a fine weekend anyway, enjoy!

Not sure if it's The Flu (phoning NHS later today now that I can think straight) but it's certainly A variety of Flu. Either way, I wouldn't want to share it.

The Sunday evening West Gallery Concert (12th July) by the Purbeck Village Quoir will be dedicated to Ray Hargreaves who died recently. Chris Pullen is putting the concert together, so if you knew Ray and want to be evolved with the concert please contact her or Roger on rogers.rant@gmail.com

Humble apologies. I shall go and wash my glasses. And my spectacles.

And the latest version of the programme, now I've got my hands on one, has the band and workshop details.

Fraid it looks like we won't be able to get along unless previously made plans go awry, maybe next year though if we get details early enough. Know you'll all have a fab time, I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather is kind for you!

Not long to go now! And this year I can get to the Friday evening session.

Villan - I can't see LaZag in the programme. And I've just tried Fran's link, which takes you to a version of the programme that you can enlarge by clicking, so not so hard on the eyes of us older persons!

I saw something on another website where Roger seemed to be implying that he would see LaZag there. I had seen the program, so thats why I queried it.

We had a lovely time, despite the rain yesterday. Congratulations and thanks to Roger, Alice and Lizzy and all your helpers for all your hard work in putting this weekend together. Looking forward to hearing how much was raised for RNLI and Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.   And to next year's Rant!
