Sorry, I'm a bit new to this.
Yes Ali I got the CD at the weekend, and your right it is excellent. I also got a copy of Ken's CD, do you have that? (if not I would strongly recommend it) he has a quality voice, and some lovely songs.

Festivals don't seem the same without the Wilsons. We were just last night discussing the variuos Festivals we go to during the summer(what summer?) and we all agreed that when the Wilsons are on the bill, it does alter our decission of which festivals we choose.

Loveley to be back at Warwick, dispite the rain we had some lovely sun on Sat. Highlights Kerr & Fagin and The Spook, chatting with the Wilsons and seeing Joyce sitting surronded by friends. Oh and indoor entertaining under canvas with some friends!!

Had a great weekend, although I don't think I actually stopped at any point. Didn't see as much as I'd hoped, although I heard plenty of it :)

What a great Festival, I thought the French/Canadian band were better in the theatre rather than the main stage, I'd never seen or heard the Wilsons before, but was very impressed and Kate Rusby was lovely.

Well I missed the Barbecue ~ how did I do that?

Congrats to Derek and Mary

Hissys in fine fettle and Hazel's twin

Shanty's wall to wall in memory of Johnny Collins, contributions as ever from Jim Mageean, the Wilsons, Kimbers men, Ingrid and Barry and the lovely GU4

I saw full "Rosie and the Snapdragons" fist time, up and comers

Spoke to John Thompson of Cloudstreet and Spooky Mens Corale ~ they are brill for circa 17 blokes singing to together

Lighting and sound in Main tent absolutely fab and the two Big Screens gave real spots and all close ups ~nice one Graham!

Bubblyrat,
Stuart was extremely impressed and grateful that you were brave enough to lend him your guitar on Derek's request, and hopes you feel he treated it with appropriate respect. A lovely guitar, and we enjoyed the opportunity to sing a song for Derek and Mary. We'll buy you a pint the next time we see you. Don't let us forget!

Had a great time and really enjoyed The Spooky Men----I am trying to imagine John Thompson singing with them;I guess he'll be easy to spot !! Derek & Mary's anniversary BBQ was a real treat---I even lent my guitar to someone! I don't usually, but he WAS a "Tindall",and he was very good ! Also had a good "Old Time" session with fiddler Tim Brooks in the bar early on Friday night.Next stop--Lechlade !

Wow, what a fab time. A complete weekend, sun, rain, friends, (known and new), port, cheese, songs, hugs, serenades, port, cheese, smiling faces, great food on site.....
My twin Gillian had a superb break and may well be back. Thanks to all who made her more than welcome.
The renamed song house was ,as always, my favourite venue. So many wonderful tales told in tune. I missed a lot of the events but Barrie and Ingrid get my vote, such fun and such special songs.

See you next time.

Well done for a brilliantly organised festival.....

Our late night revelries impacted on the morning schedule somewhat, but despite that we enjoyed the "Song House", Hissyfit, Barry & Ingrid and the Wilsons.

Highlight for me must be the "Sing like bloke workshop"!

Great meeting everyone & joining in the craic.

Hope to meet up with everyone next year, if not before then.

Bob

Saw Norman - wouldn't dare say whose ticket he was wearing!

Missed a lot of other people - working during the day with the Giants restricted us to the bar.

Spooky Men were really good - Steve Taberner is magic. And in the bar afterwards they were signing girls bodies!! I tried to say I was a Spooky Man - but fair play to the young ladies in question - they weren't fooled.

We managed to get along at the last minute & had a Fab time! It was lovely to get to one of the big festivals & meet so many Catter friends. Maybe we ought to see if we can get a programmed MudGather organised for next year, anyone have access to Dick's ear?????

High points for me:

Merek'n'Dary's 10th Anniversary BBQ & the look on their faces when they realised we'd been able to come to help them celebrate!

Seeing Hissyfit again - Warwick seems to be the only festival where we coincide with Linda & Hazel. It's not that we don't get out much (you know we do), it's just that we don't get along to the nore Northery Fests *sigh* Anyway, I'm a huge fan of these girls, they blend so well together!

Singing like a Bloke with the Spooky Men's Chorale - just fabulous!!

Oh, I'm so glad we managed to get to Warwick!!

We are working there - as usual - workshops with the kids every morning - this year making parrot puppets, monkey puppets, folded paper mini-football shirts and bottle birds.... if you have any children please bring them along - you don't have to stay so it's a chance to nip off on your own for an hour and a half! Then we are doing Parachute games on the site every afternoon too
cheers1 Dr.Sunshine
