We must really make an effort this time to drum up support for worthwhile venture. Mind you the 12th clashes with Knockholt. Please try and make it the 19th!

the crayford arms will be putting on other days of course, but its a struggle due to lack of support / clashes with oter dates etc, this cannot be helped and obviously is not planned that way, the only thing i can say is its a matter of choice , i will far rather support demelza house in what little way i can and will always be at crayford arms when they arrange a day of dance and folk, sadly the folk scene is always clashing somewhere, i will post the definate date as soon as i can, but it WILL be the 12 th or 19th, no matter what

I may fly there in my Spitfire - where's the nearest landing strip?

Focke Wulf

Fokkers were Dutch by WW2 - they made a curious push-me-pullyou thing with a front and rear engine in one fusellage and twin booms to the rudders and tailplane.

THe Fokker triplane of Baron von Richthoven in WW1 was German.

The Fokker Brothers Designed The German FW 190. a Fighter Bomber that played Havoc with both American and British Bombers during WW2.

I often sit in the cockpit of one at the War Museum. The Fokker brothers may well have been Dutch Richard, I wouldnt know but they designed a German Aircraft During ww2. Thats a Fact.

The Lancaster Bomber crews nicknamed themselves Fokker Fodder during WW2.
Kind Regards Pierre.

I,ll be there Romany Man.

Get me Facts Right.
Sorry the Dutch Fokker Brothers did not only design it they made it and the German stuck a Swastica on each wing and mounted a bloody great Cannnon that fired through the prop shalft.More then a match for the Spitfire and deadly to Bombers. but production was limited.

Its matched the Spitfire in everything but Monouvability.
Do they do Spitfire beer in the Crayford Arms Romany Man?

A Polish pilot addressing the pupils at a very refined girls school, was explaining how he had downed three enemy planes.

"They vos lined up in a row, zese three Fokkers, und I passed along ze line wiz guns firing, und all three burst into flames" he said.

The headmistress jumped in quickly. "Now gels", she said, "I should explain that the Fokker was a make of German aircraft".

"Yes Missis", said the Pole, "but zese Fokkers voss Messerschmidts".

if enough interest there will be more, but sadly no matter what or when the arms try to do anything it seems to be a problem, i think this may well be the make or break session, shame as its such a great venue but no one seems to want it, its free , its wanted by the pub and regulars, they lay on food for all, they got third in the CAMRA survey, its easy to get to from anywhere yet its badly supported .

We need to talk about getting something regular going there, Ken. Those kind of venues are few and far between, and it would be a shame to miss out on one that good.

Nice that you'll be there Royston, I always enjoy your contributions to the music.

Hey Ken

Barden, KevKlogs, Dilli, Essex Girl and Richard Bridge were talking at Knockholt about the one Sunday a month Nags Head sessions in Lower Stoke and the distance for most to travel.

Would the Crayford Arms landlady, be happy to let a monthly Sunday sing around session meet there?

Sorry RB, Kev, or any others if I stole your thunder on this? Just hate to see a potentially ideal folk venue fade due to lack of use.
