Subject: John The Revelator - looking for more verses
From: Wally Macnow
Date: 13 Jul 99 - 11:00 PM

I was just listening to a tape of Bill Ellis singing John The Revelator and realized that he only sings two verses. They are:

God walked out in the cool of the day
Called Adam by his name
Adam would not answer
Cause he was naked and ashamed.

Christ had twelve apostles
Three he sent astray
Said "Watch for me one hour
While I goes out to pray".

Anyone know any more?

Surely there must be a Wild Man Fisher site somewhere?

I posted the lyrics to Son House's version of this in a thread last year (25th July 1998). If you put 'John' in the search box and set it to 365 days, then search down the list to last july you should find the thread.
