Devonport and Titirangi have been going more than 30 years, Tir Na Nog is also a long-established club.
Can't speak for any of them myself, but the phone # for Devonport and T.N.N. is Roger and Hilary, who know everything there IS to know about the Auckland scene.

Sang there once. You have to get out sharpish to catch the last ferry, unless you are staying on that side of the harbour. Though I was given a lift back to my hotel.

Yes, Mr. Red, but the mount is a reserve(park) nowadays. It is reached by road, though a long way around. Wonderful view on a fine evening.

Yes, the famed Devonport Bunker is alive and well and still raring every week. It must be the best situated folk club in the world.

Titirangi meets 2nd Saturday and 4th Friday of every month as regular meets. We also have additional meets some months.

February 2010 meets are:-
Saturday 13th - Club Night - Floor singers 1st half - booked guest 2nd half. 8pm (be there 7.30pm if you want a chance of playing a floor spot)
Friday 26th - Friday Club - informal 'singaplayaround'.

The hall is tucked in the beautiful native bush on the edge of the beach. Great place in the summer for a picnic followed by an evening of music.

Acoustics in the hall are great as long as you're not a sound technician ;-)

Hopefully you'll pay us a visit

PS dont forget the Auckland Folk Festival 25th - 28th Jan 2010 if that fits into your plans.
