Subject: RE: John MacKenzie's in Maine!!!! From: maeve Date: 27 Jul 09 - 08:15 AM What did y'all sing? What did you eat? How is Tom? What whopping stories did Kendall tell? Was Tami awake when she got out of work? How many times did Sins sing Mexicali Rose? Did TRUBRIT arrive in time for the music? I don't need to ask what kind of house guest John is, nor whether his singing and guitar is as much of a delight as the cd indicates, because Truelove and I already were given the pleasure of his company and music. Thank you for a delightful visit, John. You will be very welcome to stay with us again. I hope it was a lovely evening, John and the rest of the Usual Suspects. maeve |
Subject: RE: John MacKenzie's in Maine!!!! Subject: RE: John MacKenzie's in Maine!!!! From: SINSULL Date: 29 Jul 09 - 07:43 AM Tami and I had Tom Burgers, cooked to perfection. Cole slaw, baked potato - all very nice while the rest wallowed in butter and sea stuff. Lovely evening, Tom and Deborah. Thank you. John is proving to be the perfect house guest. I came home to an empty recycleables bin and a beautiful mobile hung in my sunroom. Lizzie even prefers him to let her out and in. Go figure. I think she heard from the sheep. SINS, at work. |
Subject: RE: John MacKenzie's in Maine!!!! From: Bat Goddess Date: 29 Jul 09 - 10:20 AM Sorry we've had to miss the festivities due to the cruel reality of WORK. Subject: RE: John MacKenzie's in Maine!!!! From: GUEST,Kendall Date: 29 Jul 09 - 07:34 PM I've been feeling pretty low these past few days due to the death of my dear friend, Sandy Paton. I just wanted to hide and grieve, but I fought that urge and went to a dinner party at Deb and Toms house. Tom cooks Lobsters as good as I do! sniff. I'm glad I went; good food and company, and today I went sailing with Gordon and Carol. Gordon told me that Nick Apollonio is back to making instruments again after a long layoff. He is as fine a luthier as I've ever met, and his prices are very low compared to his ability. |
Subject: RE: John MacKenzie's in Maine!!!! From: John MacKenzie Date: 29 Jul 09 - 08:12 PM Hmm, I played a 6 string of his at maeve's and, while I know he's famed for his 12 strings, I'd adore to own one of his 6s. Especially if it were as nice as maeve's one. JM Yes the lobsters were divine, thanks Tom and Deborah |
