Subject: Seamus Kennedy and Jed Marum in NY From: JedMarum Date: 30 Jul 09 - 09:01 AM Seamus and I played at Caffe Lena last Sudnday night. It was a chance meeting. I was looking to fill in some last minute changes to my NY schedule and checked out Caffe Lena for an opener spot - and wouldn't you know? Seamus was booked for that night! So I asked for and got the opener for Seamus - and we played a couple of songs at the end of the night, as well. Caffe Lena is a great music spot and Seamus sold out the place. I got to watch the master at work - and enjoyed the show immensely! Seamus's mix of songs, jokes and stories was fun, uplifting and hillarious. In the music business, you always know that your path is likely to cross with old music friends - but sometimes paths don't cross as often as you'd like! I'm already looking forward to seeing my old friend again down the road, sometime soon. |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy and Jed Marum in NY From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 30 Jul 09 - 02:19 PM Jed - what a pleasure working with you. Folks - this is one talented man. He did a bunch of his own songs accompanied by some tasty guitar-picking. No banjo, unfortunately. I believe he'll get his own gig in Lena's before too long. We finished up the night with A Man You Don't Meet Every Day, and Will ye go Lassie, Go. The audience was one of the best singing audiences we've experienced in a long time. Sinsull, I think I'm booked up your way on November 21st. Seamus |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy and Jed Marum in NY From: JedMarum Date: 30 Jul 09 - 10:08 PM We did have a great night! What a fine singing audience, yes. I was impressed - even some nice harmonies. And we closed the day with a few pints and load of stories at The Parting Glass, just a few doors down. I can't speak for Seamus, but I think I had might have had one more pint then I needed! ;-) But my vision has begun to clear. |
