Subject: Obit: Jimmy Forsyth, Newcastle Photographer From: Jack Blandiver Date: 01 Aug 09 - 04:55 PM Though Jimmy died on 11th July, at the age of 95, I only found out about his passing today and my first reaction was surprise that he was still alive in 2009. I forget when I last saw him; I have fond memories of meeting Jimmy during the 1980s out with his camera in Newcastle's West End on various occasions; I also remember him looking equally at home at a book signing in Waterstones. Jimmy was a much loved folk artist, a social historian, who has given us many of the truly iconic images of the region and its people.
