Hi there everyone,
its been a wee while since I was on here. I have just really gotten into this song and I love it. I have looked around the site for the chords and I cant find them. Dick Gaughan is the version that I have heard and his voice is just amazing for these type of songs.
Would someone be so kind as to post them please so I can abuse my wifes ears, she just doesnt get folkie stuff really.
Many thanks
Dylan

Song written by Dick Gaughan's friend and collaborator, Brian Mc Neill, Muir and the Master Builder is in praise of an actual person. He was born a Scot, but is best known, loved, and remembered in the US.

Thanks for that John,
I heard the song and did a wee bit of research into him and was and remain inspired. Such an amazing man who did so much in and with his life.
I've asked her for the Biography for my Christmas, cant wait.

In about 1960, I first came across a reference to John Muir in a National Geographic Magazine article on America's National Parks. Later on found most of his books on trips to Wisconsin, his home for a while. Fascinating books, I think they are all still in print, also various omnibus editions and compilations of his writings available on Amazon.

Now getting a lot more recognition this side (UK) of the Atlantic, with the John Muir Trust, John Muir Birthplace Trust and the John Muir Country Park near Dunbar.

I loved Brian McNeill's song from first hearing many years ago. Never found a way to sing it yet, must be time to have another go!

Ross
