Subject: RE: My Favourite Things (Parody J Andrews) From: Nigel Parsons Date: 05 Aug 09 - 04:24 AM I hadn't seen this when I responded to a song challenge about a milk delivery man selling marijuana to his elderly customers, but I'll re-post it here: With apologies to Julie Andrews: MY FAVOURITE THING! Rheumatic pains, and migraines that blight us Toothache, back ache & bloody arthritis All aging pains that will ruin our day These are some things that the 'weed' blows away! Family worries, concerns about credit, Failing libido (Okay, now, I've said it) Government taxes, and how will I pay Just a few cares that the weed blows away. In the morning, while I'm yawning, lying in my bunk My roundsman delivers my milk and my cream (and) a couple of grams of 'skunk |

Subject: RE: My Favourite Things (Parody J Andrews) From: Les in Chorlton Date: 04 Aug 09 - 02:12 AM I seem to remember Hedi West had a great take on this song concerning 'favourite things' of a more mind altering nature, also a good song L in C |
Subject: RE: My Favourite Things (Parody J Andrews) From: Stewart Date: 03 Aug 09 - 10:23 PM Snopes says it's an urban legend. "Mar 19, 2005 ... Not only didn't Julie Andrews sing the 'blue hair' parody of "My Favorite Things" for a Radio City Music Hall audience on her 69th birthday, ..." It's a great parody though. Cheers, S. in Seattle |
Subject: RE: My Favourite Things (Parody J Andrews) From: GUEST,Gerry Date: 03 Aug 09 - 08:19 PM I wouldn't dream of contradicting Susan of DT, but a link or some other clue would be appreciated. A search for "botox" turned up nothing in the DT. |

Subject: My Favourite Things (Parody J Andrews) From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 03 Aug 09 - 07:45 PM Julie Andrews Turns 69 ^^^ To commemorate her birthday, actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favourite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used: (Sing It!) - If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!! Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting, Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings, Bundles of magazines tied up in string, These are a few of my favourite things. Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses, Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses, Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings, These are a few of my favourite things. When the pipes leak, When the bones creak, When the knees go bad, I simply remember my favourite things, And then I don't feel so bad. Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions, No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions, Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring, These are a few of my favourite things. Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin', Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin', And we won't mention our short shrunken frames, When we remember our favorite things. When the joints ache, When the hips break, When the eyes grow dim, Then I remember the great life I've had, And then I don't feel so bad. >>>>>>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>> (Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd that lasted over four minutes and repeated encores. Please share Ms. Andrews' clever wit and humour with others who would appreciate it. |
