I didn't say they were "official"!!

The singaround outside the pub wasn't on the programme either. We (hi Leveller!) started that one....... no one seemed to mind.

Preety is obviously pretty!

And very good it was, too (or was that just the Hobgoblin).

It looks like we're just using the Queen Catherine this year. It is friendly and seemed to serve enough good ale for me to forget what ale it is that it serves.........

Good sessions and singarounds in here last year.

See you there then.

Paul

Glad to see it doesn't clash with the Black Bull Bender this year.

All being well, I should get to both.

Excellent line up for very good value for money AND Hobgoblin ale!!

I'm sure must make sure that I am not on sentry duty 11-13 Sept so I can get along to this. Stuff it; if I'm on duty I'll just go AWOL!

P.S: Sorry, this is not relevant to 'the gathering' but can I ask : When I was at High School I once did 'The Lyke Wake Walk' with a bunch of other school kids and teachers and I kind of remember the walk starting from Osmotherley and then went over the north york moors to the east coast; is that correct? And where did it finish? And do people still do this long boring walk?
I remember getting a small coffin-shaped badge which was awarded to everyone who completed the walk - something about it being an ancient trail that monks followed to carry their dead in coffins and bury them on the coast or at sea, or something. Is this also correct?

Thanks for that fantum. My addled brain could'nt think of Ravenscar and kept coming up with Redcar; miles off!
Anyway, I'm glad if the Lyke Wake Walk is now defunct. That was one long boring walk. May it R.I.P!

Hols/ tour was great Pete..... I especially liked Crail Folk Club in the lovely Town Hall!..... oh, and the Mackerel fishing in Stonehaven. Eric Bogle & John Munroe in Dunkeld was a highlight too. In fact it was all good.

See you on Friday.
