Subject: RE: Frittenden, Kent session on Sunday From: GUEST Date: 17 Aug 09 - 12:31 PM It took place and was a jolly do, what with a posse of concertina players and Geoff Crabb, who turned up to represent the tina making Crabb family. The next regular Frittenden session will take place on the evening of the last Sunday in September; there will be one each month until the summer - the last one will be at the end of May. Gav PS - I loved the video of Florida whooping it up in the pavillion at Broadstairs. I like a crowd that cheers at the end of every dance! |

Subject: RE: Frittenden, Kent session on Sunday From: melodeonboy Date: 15 Aug 09 - 10:33 AM Having had two weeks of festivalling (Sidmouth, Lorient and Broadstairs), and having lost my voice, I'm burnt out. However, if I've recovered by tomorrow, I might just get there! |

Subject: Frittenden, Kent session on Sunday From: GUEST,Gavin Atkin Date: 13 Aug 09 - 03:52 PM We're having one of our occasional summer season sessions down at the Bell & Jorrocks [ub at Frittenden, Kent this Sunday, starting at 8pm. As usual the theme will be old fashioned and traditional music and songs, some step dancing if we're lucky, and anything else that's funny or seems appropriate. Tina enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Jody Kruskal will be along, fresh from Broadstairs Fest and Alan Day has said he'll try to be along. Otherwise I guess it'll be the usual suspects, including Tim Bull on melodeon, Gavin Atkin on fiddle and duet tina, Julie Atkin on silvery soprano, and of course your good selves. For those who don't know deepest, darkest Kent, Frittenden is a few miles south of Maidstone, and you can read about the pub here: http://www.thebellandjorrocks.co.uk/ Gav |
