hi Ron..

I'm just taking the piss out of our top boy Ricky

.. at this very moment i'm searching for cheapest DVD of the directors cut..

[i've long ago downloaded a bootleg 20 odd flac quality CD collection of the near complete
entire festival.. errmm.. search google..]

hey, 30 odd years ago i attended an all night music movie festival
at some provincial student cinema up north..

saw it then for all the counter culture music and nudey ladies

hard to believe i used to have that strength of stamina and bladder control..

It was an amazing documentary, and the director's cut - which was released a few years ago - really is a nice job.   They have just reissued it again on DVD along with some additional performers that were not included in either the original or director's cuts!

Sorry you do not enjoy festivals punkfolkrocker.   In the U.S. at least, there is a feeling of community at the various festivals that take place. Due to circumstances, I could not attend the Philly Folk Fest this year, which is going on this weekend. They have been around since 1961 - way before Woodstock was even dreamed of.

By the way - if you ever have a chance, check out Murray Lerner's film about the original Newport Folk Festivals - a brilliant documentary called Festival, and you will notice some techniques being used that were later used in Woodstock.

bugger that for a game of televised nostalgia fests...

me and the mrs watched 2 British low budget socio documentary
stylised drama romanticised football hooligan DVDs of her choice

[I.D. & Cass]

and could still press pause button and go to the fridge
for fresh glasses of local farmhouse cider and russian wheat beer
and man sized caramel KITKATS
and then gradually fall asleep and miss the end of the 2nd film

.. and still wake up in time to fall asleep again before Woodstock finished....

Surely if there were a god, this would have been god's decade: the beauty and the music is beyond compare.
