I hear there are rumours of impending doom as regards this popular radio show on BBC Scotland. Apparently it's to be replaced by a re-run of DJ, Robbie Shepherd's other show, the Scottish country dance programme, "Take The Floor".

We can little afford to lose yet another programme which features Scottish folk and trad music. It seems there is to be even less Scottish Content on BBC Scotland than ever before.

Well Bob I hope this is only a rumour. THere are things more woerthy of the BBC Scotland axe, than this delightful programme.
They might try cutting 'Fred McAulay and Friends', to just 'And Friends' for a start. The man is boring.

They could put the Reel Blend back onto medium wave too if they didn't take about three hours to cover a 90-minute football match most Sundays. Then a lot more of us would be able to hear it. I can get the medium wave signal in Halifax (England) but the VHF one petered out by the time I got ten miles south of Berwick-on-Tweed the other day.
Failing that maybe they could take over RTE's old medium wave frequency now that RTE1 has moved to long wave and Ceilidh House has also been banished to VHF *****! :-(.
