You could try Alexanders Jazz Theatre in Chester.

There seem to have been a few gigs round my way (East London) organised by the Roma Support Group. Perhaps they could help?

For ideas, you might also try contacting Steve Royall or Teddy Dupont via the The Django Reinhardt Swing Page (UK gypsy jazz site - links in the forum IIRC).

The New Victoria Theatre in Newcstle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire (NB not to be confused with Newcastle-on-Tyne)puts on a fair few guitar/jazz/world orientated concerts, worth looking at their programme on their website and see if your band fits the profile at all. That is a 300 seater theatre.
For a smaller venue, very jazz orientated, the Old Brown Jug (a pub), also in Newcastle-under-Lyme, might be worth a look.

More News.
I have just checked and the International Gypsy Guitar Festival is, unfortunately for those over here now, to be staged in England, July 2010.

Pierre "Kamlo" Barre played at a Django/gypsy/ Manouche festival some years back in Gossington, I think . Try dave_roach@hotmail.com to see if the International Gypsy Music Festival is still live over here.

I met the Pierre and some other "Djangoists" in Paris. Mind blowing!!

You might look for where Joscho Stephan played on his tour of the UK earlier this year.

MADD in Faringdon are very much alive to eclectic music. They have put on Cajun events recently. Well worth considering. (Countess of) Huntingdon Hall in Worcester ditto. And if you contact them early enough maybe the Sub Rooms in Stroud - they put on some very good events also the Space in Stroud and the Prema Arts Centre in Uley maybe

let us know where you get to. And tell me if in my area.

Your first port of call – THE gypsy jazz venue in the UK – is Le Quecumbar

www.quecumbar.co.uk

You should also get in touch with the guy that runs www.lejazzetal.com
His name is Dave Kelbie

davekelbie@lejazzetal.com
+44 (0) 7967 728259

He organizes Gypsy Jazz tours of the UK

Also, there's a guy who's just started putting on gigs in Preston that was looking specifically for world music/jazz type stuff who might be interested: josephmaclaren@yahoo.co.uk
