Hi There
Sounds a great idea - I think you'll find that Norwell has changed to the first to the first BH weekend next year as the Moor and Coast festival finished this year.
LOL Carol

Most of May is out for me, except perhaps the 2nd Bank Holiday.

That coincides with the rather excellent Norwell Happening near Newark which is exactly the type of event as your proposed festival is described.

Good luck with it..and keep us all informed - we need more events like this.

John

we would come. we love worksop, in fact stopping there on our way home. now for the important question.... did you give us money when we busked there alot? lol ;)

you would have to get some security, with it being so close to town. but the dogs love the stream running through the middle of the site.

count us in

take care all

It might be best to avoid the first weekend of May (Wath) the second (Holmfirth) and the third (Shepley). There may well be others on those weekends but those are the ones that I know of in shouting distance of Worksop.

That certainly sounds interesting Rhiannon - I'm sure we (Whipstaff) would be interested, depending on dates. You should also get in touch with local folkies like Ray Hearne from Rotherham (I can ask him if you like).

Not sure what ale will be on but I hope they will get a guest beer or two in. I know the bar is cheap though.

As to the music content ... well I hope and expect that it will be a good mix. After all, as it is singaround based weekend, then the content will be down to whoever is singing. So I'll put you down for trad stuff? (grin)

As to the date - sadly it is a smallish window of April to August (between rugby seasons).

Hils: Can I count Richard and yourself in? Please, pretty please? Room for the caravan!

Blessings
Rhiannon

Not too simple an idea at all! Depending on the actual date I would be very interested in attending.

My preference would be for a strong traditional song & music bias, along with lots of decent ale.

Sounds wonderful Rhiannon! Lots of work but I'm sure you'll have lots of helpers! The really difficult thing will be deciding dates, there's just so much going on that clashing is inevitable. Good luck Honey!

I'm THINKING of organising a mini fest in Worksop next Spring or summer. I stress it's only at the thinking stage at the moment.

My thoughts are for taking over the local rugby club where we could have indoor camping and the more regular kind of camping. From, say, Friday night to Sunday night. Food would be available from the club and the bar would be at club prices (always a good idea!). I might even manage to organise a hog roast on the Saturday night.

As to music, I was thinking of mainly singarounds/music sessions with possible 'spots' for the braver members.

This will be a fund raising event and I was thinking of a possible entrance of £10 for the weekend.

I would welcome any input Catters have to offer. at the moment it sounds like a simple idea - maybe too simple - so I might be deluding myself! lol

Blessings
Rhiannon
