Subject: Penny Lang Concert On CBC From: bobad Date: 25 Aug 09 - 09:22 PM I had the pleasure, this summer, of hearing Penny Lang live for the first time in over 40 years (to my great shame) and was blown away by her performance. Her voice and persona are so warm and inviting you just want to wrap yourself in them and be carried away by their power. I found this mini concert recorded by CBC Radio 2 in a club in Sechelt BC, where she now makes her home. If you are a fan of Penny's I am sure you will enjoy it and if you aren't familiar with her work, do yourselves a favour and give a listen. I really like her rendition of Phil Ochs' "Pleasures Of The Harbor". http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/cod/concerts/20090131plang |

Subject: RE: Penny Lang Concert On CBC From: Beer Date: 25 Aug 09 - 09:29 PM Bobad you are fantastic. What a find. I must drop Ken M. a note and pass this on to him. He is a great fan of Phil Ochs. In fact I have ken's book her titled "Death of a Rebel" of Phil. What a great great recording by Penny. adrien |
