Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Skribla Date: 27 Aug 09 - 04:27 AM From roundabout at end of A180 go over flyover towards Riby Square, taking left filter lane then 2nd left over Dock Railway Crossing, then sharp right onto Murray St. Carry on with dock to your left, railway to right, turn left at the end of dock towards marina (look for sails). It's a major event so should be signposted. |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Rasener Date: 27 Aug 09 - 05:07 AM Postcode for Sat Navvers please :-) So Dave & Julie Evardson are on. Are their anymore folkies that I might know. Cheers Les Worrall |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Skribla Date: 27 Aug 09 - 11:04 AM Humber Cruising Association's postcode (from their website) is DN31 3SD. No other folkies booked officially, but anyone wanting to perform between 10 & 4 will be welcome (especially with a nautical flavour). I understand HCA are holding a BBQ in the evening, with entertainment (not folk). Cheers Dave Evardson |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Rasener Date: 27 Aug 09 - 11:08 AM Aha, I thought it might be you Dave, but didn't want to blow your cover LOL Sounds like an interesting event. Hope you and Julie are OK Les |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Backwoodsman Date: 27 Aug 09 - 11:15 AM Hey there Dave, if Mrs. Backwoodslady doesn't have me handcuffed to the lawnmower, or doesn't find an excuse to drag me off to Meadow-Hell, I'll probably come and annoy everyone. Not especially nautical nowadays, having given up my tall-ship adventures, but still occasionally naughty-cal! :-) |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Doug Chadwick Date: 27 Aug 09 - 06:03 PM Dave, Do you need to know ahead of time who might want to perform, or is it just a matter of turning up on the day? DC |

Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Tim Leaning Date: 29 Aug 09 - 01:37 PM Sounds cool and Dudey. |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Skribla Date: 29 Aug 09 - 04:22 PM Would help to let me know in advance if you'd like to sing. There's something else going on in the marquee & I'm trying to find out more from the 'organisers' (company working for Council). At the moment we're being allocated slots from 11am. When I know more I'll post info here. Thanks for greetings Les - we're fine for a couple of old groaners. Had a nice time at Whitby. Cheers for now, Dave |

Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Doug Chadwick Date: 31 Aug 09 - 05:44 AM I'll pop along and sing a song or two if you would like. I'm pretty much free all day, so if you would like to suggest a time, I'll fit in as required. DC |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Linda Kelly Date: 31 Aug 09 - 10:38 AM Sorry we won't make it but will catch up with you at Hull shanty on Sunday |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Doug Chadwick Date: 02 Sep 09 - 02:40 AM refresh |
Subject: RE: Clipper Event Grimsby Sat 5th Sept From: Skribla Date: 02 Sep 09 - 03:30 PM Sorry for delay - been waiting to hear from organisers. Slots we've been allocated are: 11:00 - 11.45 12:15 - 13:00 13:45 - 14:30 15:00 - 15:45 That doesn't necessarily mean we can't have singing outside these slots, but among other activities in the area will be the Grimsby Sea Cadets Marching Band, who might prove a bit distracting! But we're more than willing to give up part of our allocated time for 'open mic' spots - if even vaguely maritime. The alternative is we sing for 3 hours - pass the Vocalzones! Cheers Dave |
