Subject: RE: Lyr Add: When the Wind Blows in Wyoming From: katlaughing Date: 06 Dec 10 - 06:10 PM It wouldn't matter where in Wyoming they were, Genie, it does blow everywhere!:-) We used to call our street in Casper the Wind Tunnel of Wyoming, it was so bad. I hope you can figure out the rest of these. I might have a go later tonight. I'd like to sing this one. |

On reading Jim's suggestions and listening a few more times to the jam session recording, I think these lyric amendments are correct or at least closer than what I first posted:

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: When the Wind Blows in Wyoming From: Genie Date: 06 Dec 10 - 02:43 PM In that case, Q, one might be hearing mandolins playing all the time. ; D Of course, the songwriter might have been in Cheyenne or Jackson Hole instead of Laramie? Jim, thanks for the correction suggestions. I'd still like to find someone who knows the song and can post the full lyrics. Genie |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: When the Wind Blows in Wyoming From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 10 Oct 10 - 06:27 PM The wind always blows in Wyoming. Some time ago, I attended a conference at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. The large lecture hall, where papers were presented, always had a whistle, the wind blowing through the building without let-up. The front rows weren't bad, but in the back rows, the wind howl was considerable. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Add: When the Wind Blows in Wyoming From: Jim Dixon Date: 10 Oct 10 - 06:16 PM I can only make some slight corrections, based on my hearing of that video: The full moon, it is shining, Bringing light to all... So keep me in your lovin' heart... |

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: When The Wind Blows In Wyoming From: Genie Date: 26 Aug 09 - 09:49 PM Here's what I've been able to transcribe of the lyrics so far: The road is long between us, Time keeps us apart. I cannot wait (sleep?) till I come home To the place I live in your heart. I fill my days with mem'ry ___ Each one ___ ___ you, And when the sun begins to set I miss your love so true. Chorus: When the wind blows in Wyoming I can hear your mandolin play. When the wind blows in Wyoming I can hear you whisper my name. The moonlight, it is shining, Bringing night to all, The coyotes, they are howling. I hear their lonesome call. I dream that you're beside me Holding me so tight. __ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ __ __ (Chorus) So keep me in your __ ___ heart, Keep me in your song. For time and distance cannot change. A love that is so strong. (Chorus) Yodelling. The instruments in the jam session tended to overpower the vocals in places. Maybe someone else can decipeher the words I wasn't able to. |
Subject: Lyr Add: When The Wind Blows In Wyoming From: Genie Date: 26 Aug 09 - 08:56 PM This is a pretty "mushy love song" I heard at a jam session in Seattle recently. When The Wind Blows In Wyoming I can probably transcribe the lyrics if needed, but it would be better if someone else knows them and can post them, along with the songwriter info. I can't find the song on "the Google" or in the Mudcat DT or Forum. |
