Art-

For some men, do guitars substitute for a woman friend?

Not if you're working with a "F-hole" guitar!

Eighteen-year-olds on the other hand, they can be lethal to older men.

For some men, do guitars substitute for a woman friend?

Don't the strings get in the way? Sounds kinda dangerous to me...

Les Barker must be credited with composing the parody 'Rosewood Chair'

Honestly, I'm afraid to leave my guitar alone with my girlfriend. Jealousy is a horrible thing......

Leeneia, "Banjo players are too."

Did you miss a comma after 'are,' or did you miss a word after 'too?'

Guitar obsessed 35 year olds find needy hot (and I've seen her) 18 year old chicks on My Space; while they camp out at Mom's for a spell, between lives. If you are lucky, she'll hop on a bus to wherever you are and she'll follow you every where you go. Like yummy gum on your shoe. I know. Been there, done that and had the baby, too.

I'm afraid the guitar playing obsession is genetic, and dang-it if they aren't good at it too. His Pa is the same way. Don't know if his second wife ever slaps his musical ass into jail, but I hit the road, Jack. Me and my purty baby boy. Too purty for jail.

I'd of thought you'd of run out of suckers by now, but dang-it if you aren't a charming SOB!

Call me sometime. Just tell me what jail & when and I'll come see you.
Love, Mom

Well, there is that parody of "Roseville Fair" titled "Rosewood Chair." And the banjo player didn't fare very well in the parody.

"A woman is only a woman but a good guitar is no yoke" some famous poet once said.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Banjos might to serve to function less in this manner.

So illogical, Charley! We don't hear of banjo players being assaulted because the banjo is a friendly, sociable instrument. By extension, banjo players are too.

When the last time you heard of a banjo player being assaulting by his girl friend?

At least guitar players have girl friends...

Oh, my guitar is my sweetheart she's as faithful as can be,
I put her in the corner there she waits for only me,
She doesn't drink, she doesn't smoke, she doesn't nag she doesn't crack a corny joke....(old country song.)

SECOND FIDDLE (TO AN OLD GUITAR)
(Betty Amos - Guy Willis)
« © '64 Fort Knox Music, BMI / Trio Music, BMI »
Once we were so happy you were my very own
Then you bought that guitar and ruined our happy home
You told me that you're gonna pick you're gonna be a star
Well I'm tired of playin' second fiddle to an ole guitar

You gaze at that guitar on your knee
In a way that you never look at me
This love affair of yours has gone too far
And I'm tired of playin' second fiddle to an ole guitar
[ guitar ] You said it wouldn't be long till you'd be Number One
That we'd have lots of money and we'd have lots of fun
Well all you've done is pick and grin and sing off key so far
I'm tired of playin' second fiddle to an ole guitar

You gaze at that guitar on your knee...
I've talked and preached and fought with you and tried most ev'rything
If you keep a pickin' an ole guitar then I'm a gonna sing
(yodel)

I sympathize to a certain extent, but not to the point where I can condone assault.

I took a workshop from a man who was so fascinated, indeed hypnotized by guitar, that his wife objected and they worked out some kind of compromise. (He was spending hours a day playing guitar on the front porch.)

See how superior guitarists are? Football fans would never work out such a compromise.

Final thought - something is out of whack when a 19-year-old has a 'boyfriend' of 35.

Murfreesboro Police Department

Domestic assault, underage consumption. An Illinois woman was arrested on assault charges in Murfreesboro late Sunday after she reportedly told police she tried to "knock some sense into" her boyfriend.
Karen Jennifer Isaacson, 19, of Milledgeville, Ill., told police that she and her boyfriend, John Prince, 35, of Franklin, had been arguing because he was "playing his guitar too much and not paying any attention to her," reported Murfreesboro Police Officer Chris Pitts. Pitts reported that Isaacson told him she "slapped Mr. Prince in the face 'trying to knock some sense into him.'" She said Prince responded by grabbing her and throwing her onto a nearby couch. Prince had a small laceration on his right pinkie, police noted, but told officers he received the injury while playing guitar. Police ended up charging Isaacson with domestic assault after she was determined to be the primary aggressor, Pitts report states. Isaacson is scheduled to appear in a Rutherford County General Sessions Court Oct. 1.

Indecent exposure. A 53-year-old Murfree
