While staining the deck I had an inspiration......

A Mudact CD Sampler Fund-Raiser. Has this been considered before? Who would offer one recording for the CD? How could the recordings be compiled and a CD produced at a low cost? What would it cost and how would we finance it. How many Mudcat subscribers would order a CD? Would we be will to help market the CD to our mailing lists, friends and at our Gigs? Who would select the final material (This is a major concern), or would it be a box set, and how do we censor (or should we censor) the material?

While high on Stain Fumes this sounded like a great Idea, now I have many questions.

Lloyd

I would love to offer a track. I would love to sing "Dublin, in the Rare Aul Times" for all of you. And I would want it to be a Folk Legacy production.

I adore this idea! Heaven knows I spend waaay too much money clicking on Amazon.com's one-click buying thingie to get CDS.

I'd even contribute a song, if we could figure out how to work out the recording logistics.

I'll stay tuned and keep tracing.

This idea has been out there for some time, and I am working on it and fully planning it. The hold up, however, is not me. I still do not have enough music to put on it, so send me stuff. 5 W. Gay St. Suite A, West Chester, PA 19380.

(This may be a duplicate posting...)

Does the material need to be on CD and be professionally recorded to be a part of the Mudcat compilation?
