I just ran that search on my copy of the Roud index (for songs, not broadside; I'd had it open for something else when I saw this) and it came up with 102 different songs. I don't intend to list them. (Actually I only searched for as I roved out anywhere in the first line).

At a workshop a couple of months ago we had a competition to see who could think of the most songs begginging with the words

"as i roved out...."

try it for yourself. how many can we come up with?
