Subject: Lyr Add: Queen of Galway Town From: GUEST,guest Date: 31 Aug 09 - 05:05 AM THis song is written apparently by Conor Leary, about his wife. I heard it sung by Allen Kelly, Dubliner living now in Queensland. He's recorded it with his Celtic group The Barleyshakes. No, I won't be putting up an abc or other guide to the melody. Just doesn't work with a song such as this. THE QUEEN OF GALWAY TOWN (Conor Leary) 1. She's as strong & solid as a mountain She's as soft as new-driven snow She's the source, an eternal fountain Let the waters of love flow CHORUS: Beside her I'm just a clown Picks me up when I get down Though she doesn't wear a crown She's the Queen of Galway town ( x4) 2. She's as bright as a summer's day At night she glows like a harvest moon She's the light out on the highway The keeper of an ancient tune 3. She's as sweet as the honey From the first flower of the spring She's the song, bright and sunny That the lark in the mornin' sings |
