Subject: RE: Change of Programme Fylde From: s&r Date: 03 Sep 09 - 06:01 PM A more formal statement The Fylde Folk Festival Director, Alan Bell, regrets to announce Tony Benn is unwell and therefore unable to attend the festival on Saturday 5th September. Consequently, the show " The Writing on the Wall" with co-star Roy Bailey will not take place. We all wish Tony a speedy recovery and we hope to book the show for a date early in the new year. However, happily, Steve Knightley of the famous duo "Show of Hands" has stepped forward to replace Tony and join Roy in this prestigious afternoon concert at 2.30-4.30 pm in the Marine Hall. As a folk singer, entertainer and famous for his songs of social comment, Roy Bailey has sung his songs and entertained audiences throughout the UK, Europe, Canada , the USA and the New World. Roy Bailey is a magnificent performer and a Fylde favourite. The duo "Show of Hands" have revolutionised the presentation of folk music with magnificent musicianship. Steve's songs are delivered with great passion and feeling. The duo have filled the Royal Albert Hall on three occasions such is their popularity. This new two hour show with Roy and Steve is a unique presentation of songs by two of the finest performers in the world. Should any festival goer have bought a ticket especially for the Roy Bailey & Tony Benn concert, a refund for this concert is available. Stu |
