Flanagan & Allen were both British and music hall entertainers. Wikipedia calls the song 'Any Umbrellas'

Michael Gambon in "The Singing Detective" sings (or mimes?) "The Umbrella Man" - any very well, too. "The Singing Detective" was a Dennis Potter BBC TV series. I found it on video at our local library. Highly recommended.

We had the Louis Armstrong recording, with Dizzie singing, fun song. Arlo Guthrie also does a nice rendition of Ukulele Lady.

Missing from the CD disco that started this thread was any mention of Tony Barker as a prolific producer of music hall records of outstanding quality. The Jim Kweskin Jug Band recorded a nifty cover of Ukelele Lady.
Speaking of nifty covers, I have a tattered copy of the sheet music, dated MCMXXV--a barefoot flapper on the beach with palm trees, ocean liner, and sunset in the background. Inset is a photo of two dapper vaudevillians with the legend "Featured by Correll & Gosden".

I am trying to find out as much as I can about my Great Aunt CLARICE MAYNE - the English Music Hall artist.
She performed between (approximately) 1906 to 1939.
I am particulary interested in any songs that she sang.
Lyrics and music would be very much appreciated.
I seem to have exhausted everything on the Web and eBay.
I have some sheet music including Joshua, Broken Doll, I am longing for someone to love me, Ta-ra-boom-de-ay, and a few more - but there must be more songs that she sang.

The Indiana State University Library has the sheet music in their collection. Images are not available online, but here is the catalog entry:

I haven't found any authoritative-looking lyrics on the web, but I found this set--apparently transcribed from Kay Kyser's recording--at http://www.elyrics4u.com/t/the_umbrella_man_kay_kyser.htm.
This was apparently altered or shortened from the original, because it lacks the first line given above. Also, I doubt that this would be correctly classified as a British Music Hall song, since all the people connected with it seem to be American.

Judy, just bringing this to the top again. I would've sworn that we've had a thread on Ukelele Lady quite recently - but I can't find it. There are some great thread sleuths here, but I'm not blessed with a good memory. Perhaps someone else can help.

Re 'Any Umbrellas' I have one Flanagan and Allen vinyl at home which I'll check for you. When is your concert?
