thanks to all for the good wishes, very kind.

sincere thanks to synbyn for writing me a mando tune (woodshed jig) that i might even be able to play!

sussex laurie also wrote a lovely waltz (jenny's waltz) that i cant get out of my head....what a beautiful present.

its been great getting to know so many wonderful folk musicians, am hoping our paths will continue to cross.

Great news that the music will continue at the Root 'Em! It's been a folk week venue all the time I've been going, and it's great to know that the new landlady is going to keep the music live. Good luck with the day job Jen, and hope to see you again soon at Orpington

Sue

Thanks, Jenny - a very hard act to follow.

Why can't there be more landladies and landlords like Jenny?

You told me you were moving on when I saw you at BFW but I'd forgot until I saw this thread.
Hopefully see you again sometime.

well thanks all for the very kind words. i have had an absolute blast at the pub and have made fo many great friends through it. the music has been phenomenal - there are soooooo many talented musicians out there, i had the easy job of booking it.

i am staying in broadstairs and will be having a huge change in a 9-5 job with weekends off and paid holidays!!! a luxury. it will also allow me to come out and see more music, and practice my mandolin, so watch out ... you dont get rid of me that easily!

as stu mentioned the new landlady is going to keep the music going, so please show her your continued support.

thsnks again,
jen

Jenny Ryan landlady of the Wrotham Arms in Broadstairs for the past three years is moving on to pastures new and Sunday Sept 13th 2009 will be her final day as a landlady.

Through very hard work and enthusiasm Jen turned The Wrotham (that is Root em) Arms into a very successful music venue, popular with both musicians and audiences alike.

The Pub will continue of course,

So thanks Jen, and very best wishes for the future
