Subject: RE: am I gettin old ???? can´t find......... From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 11 Sep 09 - 09:20 AM My uncle told me about a doctor he had seen on TV. The doctor said, 'If you can't remember where your put your keys, that's normal and nothing to worry about. If you take your keys in your hand and don't know what they are for, then you're getting old.' By the way, Skarpi, I have tried searching for old threads and found that the search function doesn't always find them. |

Subject: RE: am I gettin old ???? can´t find......... From: GUEST,Gerry Date: 11 Sep 09 - 07:08 PM Reflections of Paul Erdos on aging; it's bad when you forget to zip up, but it's worse when you forget to zip down. |
Subject: RE: am I gettin old ???? can´t find......... From: Mrs.Duck Date: 12 Sep 09 - 11:07 AM I'm getting quite a reputation at work for losing things and one of my assistants said' I'd write you a list of where everything is but you'd only lose it!' It all turns up eventually - usually the day after I need it lol |
Subject: RE: am I gettin old ???? can´t find..(search problems) From: Joe Offer Date: 12 Sep 09 - 01:20 PM Well, actually, the regular search function isn't working at all in the Forum, although it works on the Digital Tradition. I think the index file is corrupted. I told Max about it. You will find instructions for other search techniques toward the top of the FAQ. I use the Filter most often, because it's the best tool for finding things by thread title. For Skarpi's situation, the best thing to do is what has been described above - click on the poster's name in any message, and you will see all the messages that person has posted. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: am I gettin old ???? can´t find..(search problems) From: gnu Date: 12 Sep 09 - 02:52 PM BTW... Skarpi... I started the other threads as adjucnts to this one after Sandra's great advice. I hope it will help and I hope you don't mind. |
Subject: RE: am I gettin old ???? can´t find..(search problems) From: Joe Offer Date: 12 Sep 09 - 03:12 PM Gnu, I deleted your two threads on searching, since they just repeated Sandra's message above. We already have this one currently active on searching, and I added (search problems) to the thread title so people will easily know what it's about. There are search instructions in the FAQ, and this thread has specific instructions on how to use Google to search Mudcat. As a general principle, we allow only one active thread on any given subject at a time. If there's a discussion going on currently, please don't start a new thread on the same subject. If the title of the current discussion isn't quite right, ask me or Big Mick or a volunteer moderator to modify the thread title. We also don't allow parallel threads in both the BS and Music sections - pick one or the other. This is what's in the FAQ:
Use Google to search MudcatIf you use this Google search link and just add what you're looking for, you'll be able to search Mudcat. A search for twa corbies would look like this: (click).Thanks. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: am I gettin old ???? can´t find..(search problems) From: gnu Date: 12 Sep 09 - 03:19 PM Cool with me. And, the addition to the thread title is a great idea. Even better if it mentioned Mudcat specifically but I realize space is limited. Thanks Joe. |
