It is mainly unaccompanied singing Rob, but not exclusively so. But the emphasis is on the song. We (Rattlebag) sing 4 part harmony acapella, and we have singers with shanties, old ballads, trad songs, sometimes Americana, blues,etc. Last week we had Dutch visitors adding a Continental flavour.
It is in the Ultimate Alternative Pete, and also in the Folk Diary. Next singaround is June 16th, with a free song workshop at 8.30pm.

I should probably start a new thread. This is not a new singaround any more. It's still going after 2 years without a break. Our next singaround on June 16th will include a song workshop at 8.30pm.

Just a reminder to any lovers of song in the East Sussex area - Our singaround is every 3rd Thursday at the Stag in Hastings Old Town. We start singing at 8.30pm. All welcome. Next one is tomorrow 19th May.

There is a new singaround starting in Hastings. The first one is on Thursday 17th Sept 2009, and will then be on every 3rd Thursday of the month. It is at The Stag Inn, in the Old Town. Called a 'Rattling Good Sing' and hosted by local acapella folk group Ratttlebag. It starts at 9pm. It's free. Would love to see and hear any mudcat singers who can make it.
