Dear K+C -

Greetings from across the Pond. I would love to come to this concert, but alas, it is a bit too far to travel. I met Tom Paley a loooooooong time ago (1962) when my dad, (Jody Gibson) took me to San Francisco, California to have lunch with his old buddy, Tom. I will never forget this occasion as it was the first time I had ever seen anybody eat REAL chinese food. There were some of the most squishy and horrifying looking things on that table and Tom ate them with delight. It made an impression on me and I have been a more adventurous eater ever since. I'm sure he won't remember that, but I do hope you will pass on the information that Jody passed away in 2005 and is mentioned in a book Barry Mazor recently released that he wrote about Jimmie Rodgers. Jody always held Tom in the highest regard and, along with Rodger Sprung, thought him to be among the world's very best five string banjo players.

Wishing you well at your gig.
Knock 'em alive!
In Peace,
Joyce K.

Dearest Friends,

We're itching to get back to the Deptford Arms for some more singing, twirling, raffling, and serious good time musical fun.

Saturday 19th September, Deptford Arms, Doors 8pm, £5/£3 entry

-Tom Paley: Living legend known to have played with Woodie Guthrie

-Birdengine: A pastoral nu-folk story-teller www.myspace.com/birdengine

See you down there at the splendid and resplendent return of Kit & Cutter, with more brilliant open spots, sing-a-longs, the r-r-r-r-r-raffle and after hours dance off.

Love from K&C xx
