Subject: Watch for Albert McDonnel in Portland From: Ebbie Date: 23 Sep 09 - 12:31 AM A very good musician is leaving Juneau and moving to Portland. Albert is an excellent bass player, a good harnony singer and all around great musician; in addition he had a sound studio in Juneau where he has recorded most of the CDs that have been made in this town in the last 15-20 years. In the 24 years he has lived in Juneau he has probably made more impact than anyone else locally in the folky/bluegrass/cajun/ salsa/jazz genrae. He is the ONE in great demand. Once I was talking about him with Richard Gelardin )anyone know him?) from Anchorage and he said, "That boy has ears in his fingers." (Later I repeated that remark to Albert and he thought for a moment and then said, "Well, I guess that's better than having fingers in your ears.") We will miss him. |
