CD Baby sent me an e-mail saying that I sold my first digital download album yesterday. Who would like to make it two? Twenty songs for $9.99, how can you beat that?

Joyce,

We are all sorry to have lost him. Eric Levine passed away in May 2008 at the age of 51. Please click here for a memorial webpage I made in his honor. You can follow the link from there to a short video tribute created by his brother Mike.

Congrats! Sorry to hear that Eric Levine is gone. He was fun at the PMN/SFS gatherings.

All the Best,
Joyce

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Steve Suffet enters the digital age!

That's right, I just released my very first album available exclusively as a digital download. I call it Old Fashioned Folksinger and it's now available from CD Baby. Just click here for complete information.

There are 20 tracks, and you can purchase them individually at 99¢ each. But you can get the entire album for just $9.99. That comes to less than 50¢ a song. At that price, how can you go wrong?

But if that isn't enough, I'm happy to add that my usual gang of accomplices provide vocal and/or instrumental accompaniment on all but two of the numbers. This intrepid crew includes, among others, Jessica Feinbloom, Alan Friend, Robin Greenstein, Allen Hopkins, Ray Korona, Joel Landy, Chris Lang, Heather Lev, Anne Price, Gina Tlamsa, and the late Eric Levine.

By way of full disclosure let me state for the record that all 20 songs have previously been released. However, several have been remixed and all have been remastered. I should also point out that all 20 songs are ones I wrote myself or co-authored, or else are my versions of traditional folk songs in the public domain. That way there are no hassles with copyrights.

So what are you waiting for?

--- Steve
