Feile Amhraniochta an Chlair (The Clare Festival of Traditional Singing) will take place over the weekend of 6th,7th and 8th of November. In 2009 the festival entitled 'O Glúin go Ghluin' will focus on the passing on of tradition through families. It will feature some of the best known singing families in Ireland, The Uí Ceallaigh's, mother Áine and sons Iriel and Éadán from An Rinn in the Waterford Gaeltacht, Rosie Stewart, and one of her pupils Kreena Mulcrone, from Fermanagh, The Uí Ceannabháin's, father Peadar and daughter Saileóg from the Connemara Gaeltacht, Jim and Seamus MacFarland from Derry and local singers The Cleary's, mother Bridie and son Peadar.

PROGRAMME

Friday:
8.00 pm: Opening Launch and Registration

8.45 pm: Lecture: Power and Delight – Learning North Indian Singing by Stan Scott

9.30 pm: Informal Singing Session hosted by Annette Munnelly

Saturday:
11.00 am: Singing Workshop facilitated by Rosie Stewart & guests.

2.00 pm: Amhrain in nGaeilge. Seisiún Amhránaithe. Rosie Day sa chathaoir.

3.00 pm: Informal Singing Session hosted by Rosie Day.

4.00 pm:   Seminar: Mol An Óige (The Encouragement of Young People)
                  Rosie Stewart, Áine Uí Cheallaigh, Jerry O'Reilly,
                  Jim McFarland, Roisín White. Chaired by Colm   Munnelly.

8.00 pm: Grand Concert of Traditional Singing, hosted by Roisín White.

Singers: Áine, Iriel & Éadán Uí Cheallaigh, Rosie Stewart & Kreena   Mulcrone, Jim & Seamus McFarland, Peadar & Saileóg Uí Cheannabháin, Bridie & Peadar Cleary

10.30 pm: Informal Singing Session, hosted by Jim McFarland

Sunday:
12.00 noon: Marrinan's Pub: Farewell Singing Session hosted by Jerry O'Reilly

(The Bellbridge Hotel are offering a special rate of €119 per person sharing for the weekend. This is for 2nights B+B and evening meal on Saturday)
