It's only just over three months away but the website hasn't been updated from 2009.

Any ideas if it's even happening in 2010?

If so any confirmed artists yet?

I think that it will be launched in the third week of October - seem to remember reading that somewhere recently.

The press launch is on the morning of Tuesday 20th October. Full programme should be available immediately afterwards.

If all goes to plan, we (Celtic Music Radio) will be broadcasting the press launch live.

Bruce's info. on the Press Launch is correct. They never announce the programme before then though one or two details leak out on artist websites etc.

Expect more Americana in 2010, less 'Celtic', more 'Connections'.

I hear the Festival Club may only operate at weekends and not all week as in the past, will be based in Glasgow Art School and not in a hotel.
That may have a serious adverse impact on the Festival as a whole - the Club has been the glue that welds the whole thing together - without it the Festival may just be a series of concerts at venues across central Glasgow.

Reminder: We're broadcasting the press launch of Celtic Connections 2010 live tomorrow (Tuesday 20th) morning, from the exhibition hall at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. We'll be on-air by 9.30, with the proceedings starting at 9.45.

9:45am : Introduction by Jade Hewat, Festival Manager
9:50am : Ann Loughrey, Head of CSR for ScottishPower, Celtic Connections Principal Sponsor
9:55am : Tom Dalzell, Education and Outreach Manager
10:00am : Artistic Director Donald Shaw announces the programme of the 2010 festival

Before and after the event, we'll be carrying out interviews with various people involved in the festival. If you're at the launch, please come over and say hello. I believe we're going to be just to the left of the main stage.

It'll also be rebroadcast later in the afternoon, around 4pm.

You can hear it on 1530kHz around Glasgow, and on http://www.celticmusicradio.net/

All times are UK local time, GMT+1

Bruce.

Programme was launched this morning - Donald Shaw's presentation is on the Celtic Music Radio "listen again" site, and details of the performances are on the celtic connections website.

I've got a copy of the press release - I can post it here if anyone's interested. Warning - it's fairly long....

Bruce.

... and the festival club will be at the Art School student union, as someone said above. It will only run weekends, however there will also be late night sessions every night at the concert hall. These will be free on weekdays, £5 at weekends.
