WOW, thanks Gerry! this is exactly what I needed, I acutally did have some lyrics, bad the transcription was so bad, many words didn't make any sense to me. This is the good old American Yiddish transcription and to have the translation right with it is even better. Thanks again.

Here are the lyrics from the liner notes of the Mikveh CD. Probably mostly the same as Brave Old World, since Mikveh got it from Michael Alpert.

Boy, my spelling-checker is going crazy! They give an English translation:

I never ate borsht like this before
I never held such a taste in my mouth

I listened to a sound sample and it seems to be in Yiddish. Sorry, I don't know any Yiddish, so I can't help you with that.

If the lyrics are in the liner notes, I can get them for you, but you might have to wait a few days. By the way, it's also on the album by Mikveh. And I heard a superb unaccompanied solo rendition by a woman in a documentary film once, but I regret that I don't remember any details.

there is a song on Brave Old Worlds album "Beyond the Pale" called "Borsht". Could anyone help me out with the lyrics?
