Sadly another great one has passed away.Singer Al Martino died on October 13th age 82. Film fans may also remember him in "The Godfather". At peace.

He was popular in a time when people didn't always judge musical styles through their own lifestyle--

I can't help remembering, in those lost days of the 60's, a good friend, who was also president of the local SDS chapter, once saying, "I like Dylan, and Phil Ochs, but my favorite singer is Al Martino." And people agreed with him--

Don Firth you are right an excellent singer, he wouldn`t suit todays excuse for music , he was a real singer.

When I read the news I sang Here in my Heart all through for S, I still know all the words. As the man said, an excellent singer.
