Yeah, I count TEN threads along this line, and that's getting well past the point of aggravation. Three would have been about right (well, personally, I would have preferred just one), and all the other messages could have been posted in one of the three. We don't need a new thread for every little thing - and there's a point where parodies cease to be cute...

On a more serious level: The original (banjo) thread was used to link videos of Mudcatters & celebrities playing banjo. All our silly copycat jokes would have spoiled that one IMHO.

Well, it's not a matter of rules, but you get the idea. The original thread was a good idea, but the flood of copycats made the original disappear in a cloud of sameness.
