Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: SINSULL Date: 06 Dec 09 - 02:20 PM Just giving Seamus' new cowboy CD a listen. This is a "rough" copy but a gem. Watch for it if you love the cowboy songs of Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Sons of the Pioneers and some of the "real" cowboys. |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: catspaw49 Date: 24 Nov 09 - 01:10 PM I read that Dale wished Roy had been stuffed as well as Trigger.........or at least certain parts of him........... Really they were very religious which although I may not be, they certainly did well with family. I think they got kids in about every way possible and endured some very tragic situations always holding tight to each other. They seem to have been truly in love...........very beautiful. Sorry, didn't mean to get serious there.......So.....I also understand that Roy shot Trigger after he discovered him in bed with Dale. Roy felt bad about it and had Trigger mounted.....then Dale did the same as she wasn't finished yet............ There....that's better........ Spaw |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: kendall Date: 24 Nov 09 - 11:54 AM Oh yeah? well I remember when Leonard Slye first appeared on the screen. He was a down on his luck drifter who was accused of a crime. Gene Autry helped clear his name. Then Gene went off to war and Leonard slipped into his slot instead of joining up himself! Hadn't been for Republic pictures Gene might have disappeared. Trigger couldn't carry Champions feed bag! |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: catspaw49 Date: 24 Nov 09 - 07:25 AM Perhaps Leonard Sly but NOT Leonard Slye who was a proud and sturdy son of OHIO. Additionally, Trigger could outdo Champion on every front! And who would you have share your sleeping bag on a cold, winter, night? Dale Evans or Smiley Burnette? Spaw |
Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: kendall Date: 24 Nov 09 - 07:07 AM Folks, if you want to hear something completely different, get Seamus' new CD of cowboy songs. This guy is multi talented as well as being a hell of a lot of fun. You dredged up old memories of Saturday afternoons at the theater with The Sons of the Pioneers, Leonard Sly, Gene Autry, Tim Holt, Rocky Lane Lash LaRue and Sunset Carson. We would watch anything in those days! By the way, Gene Autry could out draw Leonard Sly any day! Seamus, it was a hoot! |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 No From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 24 Nov 09 - 03:50 AM Hey guys - I'm currently here with the Anna McGoldrick Christmas Show in N. Conway, NH. Having a blast. I just finally kicked the last 2 musicians (Jimmy Kelly and the incredibly brilliant Fintan Stanley out of my room after a skinful of adult beverages and a load of tunes. I must say, Saturday night's concert at Sinsull's was a total delight and pleasure for me and I was happy to meet a couple of new (to me) 'Catters. Hi Maeve, hi TRUBRIT. Yeah, let's do it again! Mary, Jacqui, Kendall, Jeri, maeve, Deborah, Tami, Jason, Tom, Spanky, Alfalfa, Darla, Buckwheat, John-Boy, Mom, Dad, Dopey, Doc, Sneezy et al. Thank you for a wonderful night. Seamus |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: Jeri Date: 23 Nov 09 - 10:51 AM From what I can remember, I had a great time! At least, I lasted until 2:30 or 3, and I spent most of it listening, singing or laughing. I can't remember a lot of the jokes, so when Kendall tells them again they'll be just like new. I LOVE the old cowboy stuff, and I definitely want that CD when the big CD drive gets 'em rounded up and ready for sale. |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: SINSULL Date: 23 Nov 09 - 08:08 AM Seamus gave me a preview copy of his new CD. Brilliant collection of classic cowboy songs with yodelling. Wonderful stuff. His concert at times seemed to go completely out of control with the natives taking over. Hilarious and at times raunchy always within boundaries but I am not sure who set them. Seamus' wife must be a saint or heavily medicated. His humor is non-stop. Too bad Peter and Joann couldn't make it. It would have been critical mass. Many thanks to the Morses for arriving early, putting on a pot of coffee and leaving quietly. Great music - from cowboy to sea shanties to children's songs to Gaelic melodies. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Great food. Great company. Come back soon, Seamus. |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 No From: TRUBRIT Date: 22 Nov 09 - 08:17 PM It was a wonderful evening. Seamus told stories of Frank Ifield, an old heartthrob of mine from way back.....and sang a la Ifield with wonderful yodel tones. He also teased the two Brits there (me, TruBrit and Jacqiu C) very appropriately all night. It was truly a fabulous evening......thanks for visiting Seamus! |
Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: kendall Date: 22 Nov 09 - 04:54 PM Ok, I'm not too proud to tell all. Seamus, (the man) asked for a piece of paper to write a reminder on, and a certain member of the audience, whom I shall not name, tossed him a notebook. Being nearest to him and he being on a stool, I picked it up and handed it to him. As I did, I told him that I remember when they used to throw panties at us, and he said, "And we knew it was going to be a great night when they stuck." I'm not sure I know what he meant, but everyone laughed. |

Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: SINSULL Date: 22 Nov 09 - 11:36 AM I awoke at 10:30 to find that Jacqui and Kendall had stopped by and put on a cup of coffee. They just came back for breakfast. Fun night. More later. SINS |
Subject: RE: Seamus Kennedy house concert So Portland-21 Nov From: catspaw49 Date: 22 Nov 09 - 10:46 AM I really do love Seamus and I'm sure his cowboy song cd will be great. Sounds like a good night for a;;! Jacko.......We need to talk. Have you read many of my posts? Exactly what is it that you can't tell here? Where's Sinsull? What's the scoop? You can't say something like that then just let it dangle. Do you need an Anne Frank Drum Kit or what? Now you need to get Dick Miles as Seamus suggested. Just an ocean away...just a few hours, just a few waves, really just a few....Dick Miles........He can be there with concertina and voice. Spaw |
