Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Parody: Satan Loves Me From: Joe_F Date: 30 Oct 09 - 08:50 AM Acorn4: It's a parody (in the folkie sense of the word) of the Sunday-school hymn "Jesus Loves Me": Jesus loves me, this I know, For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong: We are weak, but He is strong, etc. The "Ballad of Mary Magdalene" is self-parodying (in the literary sense of the word), IMO. "It was his career or mine"! |
