Subject: how to make sure survivors notify Mudcat From: open mike Date: 30 Oct 09 - 04:29 PM I would like to make sure that my survivors will notify my mudcat friends when i am gone. I do not expect that to happen for many many years. the messages that were posted by people when mudcatters have passed have been wonderful glimpses into these freinds' musical lives. My children are not aware of some parts of my life, parts that people in the mudcat community are more familiar with. In seeing some obit theads lately, including the perma-thread, I am realizing that I would like to leave instructions to my kids about this list, how to post to it, and how to read messages here. I was saddened that one mudcatter passed and we did not find out for a year until after her death (as mentioned in the thread about Metchosin) When Barry Finn passed away we were not able to connect immediately due to a power failure, and it is important for us to process the loss together as we have grown close thru contact here. Just a thought as i see the perma thread where several are posting info about catters they know who are no longer with us. i guess i should write it in my will to have my kids log on here and tell them my password. |
